File Names

• The extension should describe the type of file

• The name should describe the contents

• The OS might impose limits on filename

  DOS: 8.3 characters
  
  Windows: Supports long filenames, case insensitive
  UNIX: Correct Long Filename Support
  Macintosh: Correct Long Filename Support
